D3490 Firmware Updates
Doing Firmware Updates on an enclosure that contains a d3490 module and disks. Is it best practice to shut down servers using these disks? will they go offline as part of the upgrade?

Re: D3490 Firmware Updates
Hi,
Not really provided,
- You have redundant SAS switches / paths to disks.
- All disks are SAS (SATA disks will have only one path so it will go offilne).
SAS Switches will get updated one by one and so there will not be any impact (if all are SAS disks).
Hope this helps.
Thanks and Regards.

Re: D3490 Firmware Updates
If you are running any firmware/drivers on the compute modules' Smart Array from 2018 you must upgrade to a recent recipe in order to ensure that all the multi-path SAS driver fixes are available prior to uppgrading the infrastructure. That way the disks will stay online through one of the paths. (I don't have the specific versions handy but generally anything this year includes those fixes)
