Usage in ports in a 40GB V8

On our interconnects (40GB V8) we have 4 connections to the enthernet network. The connections are located at physical port 1-4. When while creating a new LIG, I create a new uplink set is have these ports available Q1 Q1.:1 Q1:2 Q1:3 Q1:4 I thnk that Q1 is the physical port in the interconnect. What are the Q1.1-Q1.4 ports? Links to Documentation are always welcome. Thanks! DT

Re: Usage in ports in a 40GB V8

Hi,

In HP VC SE 40GB F8 module up to six uplinks using QSFP+ interfaces are available for connection to upstream Ethernet switches. Up to 24 uplinks are available for connection to upstream Ethernet and Fibre Channel are available with splitter cables.

Means, each 40xGB uplink port can be split into 4x 10GB ports for use and thats why you see QX:1-QX:4 for a 40GB physical uplink (QX)

Refer sample cable picture here : https://www.connection.com/product/hpe-qsfp-to-4x10g-sfp-direct-attach-copper-splitter-cable-3m/721064-b21/17468700

Also this advisory has few explanation about splitting ports - Use it just for the explanation
