Re: Any competitive materia to undestand difference between Cisco works and IMC?
You could probably sum it up as:
* All Cisco-shop, and intending to always be that way? Then Cisco Prime LMS will do the job. (Note: Cisco Works is gone).
* Multi-vendor? Then IMC is what you want.
Cisco Prime is an umbrella term - there's many products that are part of the suite. You can find references to various parts of it being multivendor - e.g here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/netmgtsw/ps6504/ps8203/ps6776/white_paper_c11-666521_ps11879_Products_White_Paper.html
But then when you dig into what multivendor means, they say this:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/netmgtsw/ps6504/ps8203/ps6776/data_sheet_c78-638321.html. Pay attention to table 1 - image and config management is Cisco only.
IMC supports fault/perf/config management across multiple vendors. There's other products that also do that, but so far as I can tell, Cisco Prime is not one of those solutions.
