Re: Backup Error.

Backup Error.

1 Initialize task parameters. Succeeded. 2016-04-01 11:19:39 2016-04-01 11:19:40

2 Back up device startup configuratio... SNMP Set operation failed.

1. Check that the SNMP parameters are correct. With SNMPv3 adopted, the username, authentication password, privacy password and privacy mode for the device and the iMC should be the same.
2. Check the MIB style (Execute the display mib-style command. If the MIB style is displayed as new, but it displays that the node sending the Set request is 2011 after packet capturing, synchronize the device. Check the MIB style again. If the MIB style is still inconsistent, execute the mib-style [ new | compatible ] command, and then restart the device.).

3. Error code such as no such name may occur for the Set operation. You need to capture packets to analyze whether such error occurs in the response received by the device.

4. Device busy, please retry later. 2016-04-01 11:19:41 2016-04-01 11:21:23
3 Initialize redo task parameters. Succeeded. 2016-04-01 11:21:23 2016-04-01 11:21:24
4 Back up device startup configuratio... Succeeded. 2016-04-01 11:21:25 2016-04-01 11:22:09

Re: Backup Error.

Some more information would be helpful. What sort of device are you trying to backup? Where did those last few lines come from ("display mib-style...") - was that from you typing at the CLI?

Do you want to backup this device using SNMP read/write? Or through CLI/SCP? If you don't want to use snmp read/write (or the device is not configured for it), then un-set the SNMP read/write string on the Device Details page.

Re: Backup Error.

What sort of device are you trying to backup? : HP 7506

("display mib-style...") - was that from you typing at the CLI? : YES

Do you want to backup this device using SNMP read/write? Or through CLI/SCP? :SNMP

We are getting the error during iMC device backup execution. But backup taken successfully. We have another same model device and not getting any error during device backup !

Thank You

Re: Backup Error.

This makes me think of a similar issue which was resolved for the HP 5130 switch.

I suggest to open a support case with Hewlett Packard Enterprise to verify and get it fixed for your device type, as well.

Is the other device running the same firmware? Is it actually using SNMP read/write? Or does SNMP read/write fail, and it switches over to CLI/SCP?
