Hi guys,
I'm trying to get the config file from a HPE 5500 but only with SNMP.
The telnet and SSH are disabled on the device but the snmp is the only thing running and working.
Can this be possible?

Re: Backup HP 5500 switch with SNMP only
Do you have SNMP read-write configured on that device?
I'm not certain if you can trigger a backup using SNMP on Comware devices, but at a minimum you will need SNMP r/w.
Is there a good reason you want to do this? Are you locked out of the device, or is it someone else's gear?

Re: Backup HP 5500 switch with SNMP only
Yes I have the R/W.
We manage the device but for some reason we are unable to ssh it using our username and password. I think one of the tech guy put a typo on the password or username before leave the place. The place is miles away from us, so I'm really want to save a long travel.
Thanks

SolutionI was able to fix the login credentials using SNMPSET.
If someone need it, this two thread helped me to figure it out:
1. https://community.hpe.com/t5/Comware-Based/How-can-I-pull-partial-configs-off-of-a-TFTP-server-to-an-MSR30/td-p/6123829
2. https://community.hpe.com/t5/Comware-Based/How-to-backup-HP5130-configuration-using-snmp-commands-as-it-can/td-p/6960538
Hope this can help you too.
