I'm currently testing the HPE IMC V7.3_E0506 on windows server.
I was able to discovery some devices and backup config but for the 5130 series switches I can't update the software image.
Was able to update an older 5120.
I got the error:
Upload software to device from iMC Server.
The device software in the iMC does not exist.
Check whether the software of the device exists in the iMC installation directory /server/data/image. If not, back up the software to the iMC.
The software image is in that folder, also I tried with TFTP (default) SCP and SFTP as global file transfor mode and set individual for the device.
all login settings for that device are correct, so snmp read/write, telnet and ssh. Also tried another 5130 switch but get the same error.
Tried to find something in the logs but can't find anything.
Any thought's?

SolutionHPE 5120 is Comware 5 operating system based, HPE 5130 is Comware 7 operating system based...I suspect you need at least HPE IMC 7.3 E0506P07 (That's because Patch 7 - P07 - of E0506 added the "Software and patch upgrade for H3C Comware 7 devices." feature)...or, always better, to avoid other issues plan to go to latest HPE IMC 7.3 E0605P06 if you can e(mandatory update procedure: HPE IMC 7.3 E0506 --> E0605 --> E0605P06).

Thanks for the hint, but as I'm using a trial and the build in Software update seem's to don't work. Can't get any updates.
If I try to download it on the HP page I still got the E0506.
Any ideas how I got a test version, I would like to test this feature first as we do have a few's of the HPE 5130 switches.

ok I think I found it on the support page:
iMC PLAT v7.3 (E0605P06) - Windows
I will download it today and try the update then.

ok so I did the update to E0605P06 but still the same error.
tried with tftp, scp etc also deleted and re-uploaded the bin file.
Is there a logfile to see what IMC is trying to do?
edit: found the logs... set it to debug but didn't see much more infos why it is still failing.

ok seems to work now. I was now able to download the software image directly in IMC (that didn't worked in the old version) and now I have a zip file in the image folder on the server...?
But anyway I was now able to bush the bin file to the HPE 5130 switches. So do a reboot of the switches by scheduler this evening hope this works.
