How to use IMC Compliance Policy to Enter xtd-cli-mode

Objective: I want to view the output of the >display transceiver interface command to determine if an SFP's are/aren't supported.

Resource: I wrote a script like Linddsay Hill describes in https://lkhill.com/imc-compliance-display-commands/

Platform:

HPE Comware Platform Software
HPE Comware Software, Version 7.1.070, Release 3208P03
Copyright (c) 2010-2017 Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LP
HPE 1950 24G 2SFP+ 2XGT PoE+ Switch uptime is 1 week, 6 days, 23 hours, 29 minutes

Display Command:

xtd-cli-mode
y
foes-bent-pile-atom-ship
display transceiver interface

Output from display logbuffer:

%Sep 18 10:58:32:508 2018 hostname SSHS/6/SSHS_CONNECT: SSH user username (IP: ipaddress) connected to the server successfully.
%Sep 18 10:58:33:919 2018 hostname SHELL/5/SHELL_LOGIN: username logged in from ipaddress.
%Sep 18 10:58:44:146 2018 hostname SHELL/6/SHELL_CMD: -Line=vty1-IPAddr=ipaddress-User=username; Command is xtd-cli-mode
%Sep 18 10:58:44:155 2018 hostname SHELL/6/SHELL_CMD_CONFIRM: Confirm option of command xtd-cli-mode is yes.
%Sep 18 10:58:44:157 2018 hostname SHELL/6/SHELL_CMD_INPUT: Input string for the xtd-cli-mode command is ******.
%Sep 18 10:58:44:185 2018 hostname SHELL/4/SHELL_CMD_MATCHFAIL: -User=username-IPAddr=ipaddress; Command foes-bent-pile-atom-ship in view shell failed to be matched.
%Sep 18 10:58:44:196 2018 hostname SHELL/4/SHELL_CMD_MATCHFAIL: -User=username-IPAddr=ipaddress; Command display transceiver interface in view shell failed to be matched.
%Sep 18 10:58:54:285 2018 hostname SSHS/6/SSHS_LOG: User username logged out from ipaddress port 52558.
%Sep 18 10:58:54:286 2018 hostname SSHS/6/SSHS_DISCONNECT: SSH user username (IP: ipaddress) disconnected from the server.
%Sep 18 10:58:54:459 2018 hostname SHELL/5/SHELL_LOGOUT: username logged out from ipaddress

It appears IMC doesn't pass the xtd password (foes-bent-pile-atom-ship) to the switch, so I cannot perform any Display commands. Is there a syntax I could use in the Display Command Output box when I modify the Rule?

Re: How to use IMC Compliance Policy to Enter xtd-cli-mode

Hi Johnson,

Can you confirm if you are able to login to extended cli mode (xtd-cli-mode) with the password 'foes-bent-pile-atom-ship' from CLI.

Please be informed that this HPE 1950 is a web managed switch and with limited CLI access. Extended cli access is only for engineering level acesss and not for user access.

Thank You!

Re: How to use IMC Compliance Policy to Enter xtd-cli-mode

Hi Rajkumar,

I can access xtd mode via cli, and am a network engineer. I'm just trying to find out if I missed something in IMC? We've got hundreds of 1950's in our environment, and I can't spend time accessing the web interface for each device to identify the information I am looking for. I should be able to use IMC to access xtd mode so I can retrieve the info I am looking for, but for the life of me cannot get it to passs the password to my switch.
