IMC - Comparison of the 3 editions...
I can't find a side-by-side feature comparison of the 3 IMC editions (Basic, Standard & Enterprise)..?
Does anyone know where I can find it - assuming it exists outside of HP..?
Thanks,
MC

Re: IMC - Comparison of the 3 editions...
In terms of capabilities, there's not too much different between Standard + Enterprise. The main difference is in what they are licensed for. Most capabilities can be added to Standard. The key difference is in supporting hierarchical setups.
I haven't fully got my head around Basic, but the main things I've noticed so far are:
* Absolute max 50 wired devices. Can have more wireless devices
* Config/Compliance features seem to have been removed/ severely restricted.

It has not been published yet, but trust me, you're not the only one asking for it.
Lol... Thanks... I see a pattern emerging here... HP not publishing information that makes choosing between their products easier...

Re: IMC - Comparison of the 3 editions...
I wouldn't read too much into it! I think that in this case it's just that they've introduced a new version relatively recently, and they haven't quite gotten around to publishing this info in an easy to read manner. All the info is out there, it just hasn't been consolidated yet.
Maybe it's something I need to do for www.netopscommunity.net - pull together a quick table showing the differences between versions.

Re: IMC - Comparison of the 3 editions...
Hi,
AFAIK, the enterprise edition has these functions over the standard:
* NTA (2 nodes)
* eAPI (scripting/dev extension option)
* 200 vs 100 nodes ( but both can get additional licenses)
* can be hierarchical master
The basic would be missing these features from the standard:
* hard limit to 50 snmp nodes
* no syslog
* no support for addon modules ! (so e.g. no NTA option)
* no policy management
* no compliance check
* no HyperVisor management
It has this unique feature (probably because no NTA can be installed, and because it needs to replace PCM, which used to have some basic sflow support)
* sflow collection for 12 hours only
But I assume some official docs will come out soon which cover the actual differences, so do not bet your life on this list :)
Best regards,Peter

Re: IMC - Comparison of the 3 editions...
I've taken a stab at putting together a comparison of the editions.
http://lkhill.com/hp-imc-edition-comparison/
Mistakes are mine. If there's anything that needs adding/changing, let me know.

Re: IMC - Comparison of the 3 editions...
I find this old thread to make a new question: in a Standard version I have the "auto backup plan" on the Configuration Center tab, in the Basic version I can't see it...
Can anyone confirm to me this difference between the two software version?
My only dooubt is that I installed for the moment a Basic trial version, from trial to registered we have some difference?
thanks

Re: IMC - Comparison of the 3 editions...
Anybody know off-hand if I can downgrade from Enterprise to Standard? I doubtful but I don't think the Enterprise demo I installed is worth the extra $$ over Standard.

Re: IMC - Comparison of the 3 editions...
I'm pretty sure that if you've been running on a trial Enterprise license, and you install a Standard License, it will be OK. You won't be able to run NTA any more, and it might change the number of nodes you're allowed to monitor. It will also disable access to the eAPI.
