SNMP operation fails 2900 procurve switches

Hi

I am running HP imc latest version. i did some SNMP access check for few HP procurve 2900 and 5400 switches. I get SNMP inconsistent results. I tested SNMP 5800 switches and it works fine. Same SNMP settings are configured on 2900s and 5400s as well. I logged into iMC server and ran SNMP test using paesler tool with set username  and supplied auth password. Test runs fine on both 2900, 5400 and 5800s and gives no errors.

Am i missing something? ...

I look forward to hear from you.

Thank you!

When you say you are getting inconsistent results, can you describe what is different in the 2900 switches vs the 5400's?

Kind regards,

Re: SNMP operation fails 2900 procurve switches

after changing group access level i am able to connect to all the switches through our iMC however two of switches are still giving SNMP errors. SNMP config on all the switches is identical, when i ran my test against SNMP settings through iMC i am getting switch cannot be pinged, SNMP settings incorrect, invalid characters are found, device returns failure.

Are all of your 2900 Series switches behaving the same way? Which version of software are they running? Which version of IMC are you running?
