Using Application Monitor to monitor events

Hello all, does anyone have any way of monitoring events within APM?

I have turned on event logging for my windows server application. Ticked Error and Warning and set the threshold to the lowest 10. I have also created a threshold for an event ID, (server low on DHCP leases). However unless lots of events are logged at once I dont get an alert. Any ideas?
