AA Transfer across VTL trunks

I have a customer that has two NBX system with VTL trunks.  Site A has 1XX extensions and Site B has 2XX extensions.  we tried to set the 2 option in the night AA to transfer to site B but it does not allow it.  Is there a work around?

Re: AA Transfer across VTL trunks

Use aa's at both sites to have different numbers like

ex :

site 1 5500 - 5510

site 2 5511-5520

use a pretrans @ site one and send the did from say  5083235000 to AA 5511 using the vtls .

entry in table 2 for a route for say 5511 to use rte 10 ( your vtl rte )

You can use pretranlsators or Set up custom time of day routes as well .

Re: AA Transfer across VTL trunks

I think i did not explain myself correctly.  If a caller is in the AA in site A and they need to dial an extension in site B, is that possible?  Site A only has analog lines and all calls go into one AA but they need to be able to reach mailboxes in site B.

Re: AA Transfer across VTL trunks

yes, you need to put the routes in Table 2, as well as Table 1

So on Site A, in table 1, you have 2xxx going to Site B .. you should copy the same line into Table 2 since

it is Table 2 that the Auto Attendants use.

That should do it !

Thank you.  I should have thought of that.

Re: AA Transfer across VTL trunks

That is the preferred method . I thought you wanted to send the call directly to the other sites Auto Attendant .

Re: AA Transfer across VTL trunks

I have a doc but it will nto let me post it so I will cuit and paste it for you as well .

Site to Site calling

The easiest way is to use Unique extensions site to sit e, example , 1100 = site 1  & 1200 = site 2

We will use route 10 as our example sending calls to extensions 75XX ( 7500 thru 7599 )

1. Create a destination route

DestinationRoute Create    10 Test rte to 10.211.243.3
DestinationRouteEntry Create    10     1 *0010
DestinationRouteOperation Create    10     1      1 replace    10*211*243*3* ( IP address of remote site )

Once you create your destination routes , you must assign them to an entry in the dial plan for site to site calling . By this example , anything with 75XX will go out route 10  thus using the IP address on the dial plan to go to the other site . You will see on the other site 10*211*243*3*75XX in the logs .

Add this line below to dial plan table 1 .

TableEntry Create   1    47  20             4   4 Internal           0    10

This tells the system to route any calls with 20xx to route 10 and the IP address to the other site

Assign in table one a wan class to the entry and make sure to enable in the Class of Service .

Create a new extension list called *0010 and call it tie lines . Add in your vtl ports to this extension list .

Call your extension across the wan and see if the tels ring and answer .

Note : for outbound calling , you MUST set up a second route exactly like this one , but at the end of the string add in an 8 digit password , 10*211*243*3*00000000* . Then go into netset - system maintainance / password administration and select vtl passwords and click on GO . Then create  a password 8 zero's like in the entry previous . No outbound calling unless you use a password . Then in dial plan one at the remote site , assign to your  9 route this new route 10 from site 2 to site 1 and now your calls will go to site 1 ,  send the digits , 91xxx-xxxx and process the call automaticially . Ext List 11 will have the same VTL ports in it as the internal ext list 10

Re: AA Transfer across VTL trunks

If you need a copy of my dial plan I can attach it for you. I have that feature set up for multiple sites, it took me a few tries to figure it out.

Re: AA Transfer across VTL trunks

Thank you but I got the routing setup, I just needed to get the AA to be able to transfer calls to the remote NBX.
