ATA shows unknown status. Help troubleshoot

We got one ATA from our customer reported not to work. We plugged it to our network, and the Ethernet is UP, but there is no sign of NBX detecting it!

The only thing we could do is connect a serial cable to it and capture the messages coming during the power on startup. Is there any suggestion for troubleshooting before opening an RMA?

Do you have auto discover on for ATA's?

Yes, I enabled auto discovery for ATA, but no success. Also, I assumed that once the ATA will be powered, there will be some traffic flowing out of it to the network, so I accessed the switch to see if any packets are going out of the ATA towards the network, I searched for the ATA mac-address on the LAN switch to which it was connected (display mac-address interface e 1/0/20), and the result came (no mac-address found on interface e 1/0/20). Is this normal?

yes, if the ATA is trying to be discovered you would see broadcast packets coming out the ATA

Try connecting a console to the ATA and do

an nbxEEpromClear.... this will clear any settings and set it back to factory defaults... This is for a 3c10400B ATA unit only.

The ATA is already 3C10400B. I have opened Hyperterminal serial connection to the ATA to clear the EEPROM, but it looks like the boot process is not getting to the point where it accepts this command. I have captured the output from ATA serial port during the boot process. I interrupted the boot and I had access to the following set of commands:

In my previous post I have included the full output of our ATA booting process. After that it freezes and does not accept any input neither does it give any output

sorry, that ATA is dead.. looks like the flash is gone.Only thing to do is RMA the unit.

Regarding that nbxEEpromClear command, where did you read about it? Is there a reference manual for NBX Terminal CLI that can be used when connecting via serial console to ATA, Attendant Console, or even the NBX itself? Where to get such a reference guide (if any exists)?
