Block incoming phone number

How do I block a specific incoming phone number, either for the whole system or for an individual user?

We have 3 Com NBX software version R5_0_28

I am a computer network admin but this VoIP phone stuff is new to me.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Re: Block incoming phone number

You cannot block inbound caller id . The NBX is not capable of doing that .

You can manipulate outbound caller id only .

Merlin,

Thanks for answering. I was afraid that we couldn't block incoming numbers. I couldn't find anything about it in the software documentation and I was hoping that I was just missing it.

Re: Block incoming phone number

you cant block specific numbers but you can route them to a "drop dead" destination. do you know the numbers you want to drop?

Re: Block incoming phone number

I understand an incoming NBX call can be routed by Caller ID.  Is this true?

I am getting unwanted calls and wish to ignore them.

Thanks!

Re: Block incoming phone number

No, an NBX can't look at the incoming caller ID tag and route the call. It can only route calls by either port or DID number it receives from the telco.

You realize that you are answering a question that was posted in 2009, right?  The guy who wrote that question may have already died of old age by now.
