Re: Message LOG - DIL

"malloc failed" means that the NBX was trying to allocate memory and could not. Do you have the extra memory in your V3000? how many devices?

Check your free memory on Netset every once in a while and see if it is getting too low. I know 3Com states that you do not need the extra memory unless over 250 devices but if you are close to this limit or you are using a lot

of features, then it is wise to get the extra memory.

THANKS for reply....

Memory is :

Free Memory (in bytes): 181,407,464
Memory Upgrade Installed: NO (268,431,360 byte)

and total number of devices is 126 of 250.

I have a chassis with two tep PRI one tep BRI and one tep ATC.

Release is R6_0_55.

Re: Message LOG - DIL

yes, Keep your eye on that and watch it. .tons of free memory right now..

Not sure if this is a gradual degradation or if, all of a sudden, something is slamming the nbx and using up memory.

A better way of watching memory is to go to http://ip_address/sec_cont/ops/memory.htm

In the memShow/Snapshot period, put in 30 minutes, then click on  "take snapshot now".

this will take a snapshot of your memory every 30 minutes and write it to the memory.txt file.

Then you could see if this is a gradual degradation or if all of sudden memory is being used up.
