Remote IP sets via L2TP VPN

Will this work?

IP-enabled 2102 set at remote site registered to NBX100 R4.3 at primary site

Cisco/Linsys routers at both sites both support L2TP VPN tunneling

All of your info is very old machinery .

yes it is all supported . Just remember that Multicast is not . You must set up a GRE tunnel for the multicast traffic

 Other wise , no time and date , paging issues , etc .

Re: Remote IP sets via IPsec VPN

Yeah, I know, but at least it's not R4_1

I'm a little WAN challenged, so to clarify;

The Linsys WRV200 routers are the internet routers at each location. They are connected to to different ISPs in two different towns. Both have static addresses from their respective ISPs.

In order to connect the remote IP 2102 set(s) at location A to the NBX at location B;

Can a IPsec VPN tunnel on these two routers be set up to connect these 2 offices in addition to their local functions as internet access, firewall, and DHCP server? Will I only lose multicast features with IPsec VPN?

Re: Remote IP sets via IPsec VPN

I had thought you were inside a company lan . Are you trying to connect from home ?

If so , then this will not work . Only with a pcxset as for the hard phones to work you will need a hardware vpn on both sides .

Connecting 2 routers like that I would suggest you give Linksys a call . I am not familiar with that type of equipment , but  it should work .
