V3000 Not working

Since 2 days our V3000 NBX is not working.Tried to reset, still no dial tones, no ping. We checked with local vendor and was told that the NBX needs to be replaced with V3001 and need to procure licenses again since V3000 is no more usable with V3001. Just wanted to check whether anyone has experienced such issues before and only option is to reinvest on the entire solution again.

Not true . Whats the matter with the NBX V3000 ? Did you speak to anyone in tech support ? What you state is that the system is down and you need to do some troubleshooting . Systems can have issues but need more data .

Re: V3000 Not working

No Idea, I got feedback from technical support that they are still trying to figure out the problem. They are giving indication that Hard Disk is gone. If the hard disk is gone are there options we can replace it and transfer the licenses? In the worst case if we go with new NBX 3000 can we transfer the licenses?

Re: V3000 Not working

Do you have a case number ?  The V3000 systems along with the latest code have run for quite a long time with no issues .

Recommended to run R5.0.31 or R6.0.63 code or you can go to R6.5.22 code .

Re: V3000 Not working

A lot of people are being told that they have to upgrade from the v3000 and buy everything over, but that is just sales hype. I just repaired three v3000s and a v5000 at different customer sites this week.

If they replace just the hard drive in your unit, then the licenses will not be effected - assuming they have a backup copy of the licenses or a copy of the original key codes to reinstall on the hard drive.

The licenses are tied to the specific system ID of the unit you have, which is on a memory chip in the chassis.

If they replace the chassis or bring in another unit, then the existing licenses will need to be replaced.

Have a good day,
