Is it possible to change outbound CID of a hunt group member? Instead of presenting the member's extension, could it be the number of the hunt group itself?
I'd like to be able to hide the the CID of the member so that all outbound calls would present the CID of the hunt group.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Changing outbound CID of hunt group member
Unfortunately no you are not able to do that6 . In the ACD software you can but that is a billable item for agents .

Re: Changing outbound CID of hunt group member
Hi Ron,
Actually, that should be possible through the digit manipulation tables on the gateway, specifically in the table IP to Tel Source Numbers. This assumes that the outbound calls are placed through a PRI to a telco that allows outbound "custom" Caller ID.
Manipulation of this table is rather tricky and a backup of the INI file should be obtained first. The first entry in the table that matches is used for the call, so the order of the entries is extremely important. An example would be something like the following in the 5.2 gateway software versions:
Dest. Prefix Source Prefix Source IP Number of Stripped Digits Prefix (Suffix) to Add
* 4321 * 4 8006333600
Number of Digits to Leave NPI TON Presentation
<blank> E.164 Public National Allowed
The entry above would send an outbound Caller ID of 8006333600 for extension 4321.
As far as I know, there is no difference in outbound Caller ID presentation when a hunt group member phone places a call and when a non hunt group member phone places a call.
If you need further assistance with this issue, please open a case with Technical Support.

Re: Changing outbound CID of hunt group member
Thanks John. I have this working on the Gateway. Can the internal CID be changed as well?

SolutionHi Ron,
I'm glad that worked. To change the outbound CID of hunt group member phones, you could try using a User Number Translation. They are configured in the Users -> Configurations -> Number Translations section of the Central Management Console web provisioning interface.
You might want to try these values:
Source Pattern: <extension of a hunt group member phone>
Result Source Pattern: <the outbound CID to be presented>
Destination Pattern: *
Result Destination Pattern: *
This would affect all calls, internal and external, placed by that phone, including checking voicemail. IP Messaging will no longer recognize that calling number (unless it was added as an alias to the destination mailbox), so the user would need to enter their mailbox number when checking their voicemail. If that is not desired behavior, then you would need to use more specific Destination Pattern and Result Destination Pattern values, closer to the numbers the user most commonly dials.
You will need to create the patterns in the Users -> Configurations -> Patterns section of the Central Management Console web provisioning interface before adding the Number Translation.
