What is it?

The community workshop on HPE OBR content development hosted by HPE OBR R&D equips you with skills to build your own HPE Operations Bridge Reporter content packs.

HPE Operations Bridge Reporter is the enterprise reporting solution of choice that enables reporting on IT performance reporting. The product offers a content development toolkit including a content designer UI that aids the process of building reporting content.

This workshop aims to cover the capabilities offered by the new Content Designer UI and what it takes to build reporting content based on a sample agent based data source.

Workshop Schedule: September 26 - October 7, 2016

Why should you participate?

  • This is your opportunity to explore the capabilities and build OBR Content packs tailored to meet enterprise reporting requirements.
  • Gain exposure to the new Content Designer UI and CDE. Build a report end-to-end from a data source based on the Operations Agent.
  • Get access to all required information for building your own OBR content.
  • Meet our R&D experts and let them assist you during the workshop.
  • Learn new skills, develop and submit your content to the community.
  • Influence the content development roadmap by sharing your feedback with us.

Pre-Requisites

  • Familiarity with OBR Concepts and basic knowledge of OBR content and data flow
  • OBR 10.01 Setup pre-installed (more details after registration)

Step 1: Register for the event

Make sure you register for the workshop in order to receive your invitation for the virtual kickoff session, additional information and updates about the event. You have until Friday, September 23rd to register.

Step 2: Get the Skills, Resources and Support

R&D experts at HPE will provide guidance and support in the OBR Practitioners forum during the workshop.

Step 3: Develop your OBR Content

Use your installed OBR environment or download a trial version to get started.

If you want to share your source code with the community, setup a new project on GitHub and develop your OBR content. Ask for help, discuss and learn with others in the forum.

Step 4: Submit it to the Community

In a few easy steps submit your OBR content pack to the community once finished and tested. See what others have developed during this hackathon and discuss the different approaches with them.

Get visibility in the Operations Bridge community and receive feedback that will help you improve your skills in OBR content pack development.

Step 5: Earn Points on “ITOM Insiders”

As if getting a free training, free resources and direct access to our experts isn’t enough, you are also eligible to earn points on ITOM Insiders around HPE IT Operations Management.

That's right: Registering for the event will give you a few points, you’ll get a few more for attending each of the two webinars, and even more points for your content submission! Once you've earned all these points, you can get a voucher for them.

Timeline

  • Friday, September 23th, 2016: End of registration period
  • Monday, September 26th, 2016: Virtual Kickoff Session
    (Content Designer Overview)

Finaly..   I'm really looking forward to this.

I have two questions:
 - Do you have aprox time frame of the sessions? (like 10AM to 4PM NewYork time or similar) - Workshop Schedule is from September 26 - October 7, 2016 while in the time line at the end shows last session on October 5th?

Best regards, Tomaz

Hi Tomaz,

Great to know you are interested in our OBR workshop. There are three live webinars at the following dates and times:

The workshop ends officially on October 7th, because even after the final webinar our experts from the OBR R&D team will closely monitor incoming questions and discussions in the related forum. This means you can continue working on your OBR content and get more help and guidance in the forum.

Btw: the email after registration is not sent automatically. It can take a while until registered participants receive the invitations and details about the workshop. The first set of emails will be delivered tomorrow.

Best regards

    Frank

Was there a recording of this workshop made available for viewing after the fact?  If so, what is the URL?

Thanks!

Chris

Hi Chris,

unfortunately it was not possible to publish recordings of the live sessions.
But I have some good news for you: beginning in February we will start a series of OBR webinars covering all sorts of practitioner topics and real-world scenarios. There will be monthly sessions and you'll see announcements on this forum soon.

Best regards

    Frank
