About make_net_recovery

I want to use make_net_recovery to backup a workstation's whole system data (and some application data) to a remote Ignite-server!
How the archive stored in the Ignite-server?
Can I backup the this archive to the tape on the Ignite-Server remotely?

Re: About make_net_recovery

Hi,

you can backup the recovery archives with your regular backup tool.
Just make sure you make a make_tape_recovery of your ignite server in case this one crashes.

The archives are stored where YOU want them to. Default is somewhere in /var.

Re: About make_net_recovery

Hello

Use make_net_recovery to create the archive and then create it on tape.
See doc /opt/ignite/share/doc/makenetrec.txt and towards the bottom is a section "Creating a Bottable Archive Tape".
Full instructions on how to create a tape from a make_net_recovery archive.
