Best practice for backing up Ignite server

What is the best practice to ignite an ignite server ?

Run make_tape_recovery ?

Attempting to make_net_recovery on ignite server errors with conflict as it tries to nfs mount the /var/opt/clients back to itself.

Other options ?

Shalom,

I ran make_tape_recovery on everything except the images. They were too big and we got them with Veritas, making the recovery process two step.

Tim,

we run a weekly make_tape recovery on vg00, and perform Netaback nightly's on the other vg's (i.e. the other ignite images)

Re: Best practice for backing up Ignite server

Setup a second one and have it backup/ignite the main one.

Re: Best practice for backing up Ignite server

I have a secondary (I call it stage/sandbox) server set up with the same image as my primary Ignite server. In a pinch, I can restore the images & configurations files to it, and run there, or reinstall the primary from it.

Hope it helps
