Boot HP-UX 11.00 from tape
Hi All,
I have created boot tape of hp-ux (hp9000) with make_tape_recovery ignite command.
I need to restore the system on another machine (exact the same) running hp-ux too. Is there any procedure or hints for booting the system from bootable tape?
Thank you,

Re: Boot HP-UX 11.00 from tape
Interrupt the boot process when prompted.
You then issue a "SEArch" command from the firmware monitor. A list of possible boot devices will be displayed; this SEArch make take a few minutes to complete. You then issue a "BOOT P2" command (assuming that P2 corresponds to the desired tape drive). Interact with ISL/IPL? N. Now the install process should begin.
NOTE: It is possible to create a make_tape_recovery image that is nonetheless unusable on the target machine --- especially if you used an unexpected tape drive type/model.

If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
