CDROM Mount Problem after Ignite restore

Hi,

I have created an Ignite CD using 11.00 w/11.11 BOOT-KERN fileset using make_sys_image. This was written to CD using mkisofs and cdrecord. I have included a postinstall script that prompts the user to load a second CD prior to the second reboot that would normally occur after the Ignite restore. The system reboots, then the postinstall is executed and the CDROM fails to mount. I can't manually open the door to the CDROM device to extract the 1st CD.

Do you have any ideas on what is happening? The CDROM device is a HP model (not sure of its part #). I have seen problems with these drives in the past.

Thanks for any insights.

Shot in the dark - have you tried including a line in the postinstall script to mount the cdrom?

Re: CDROM Mount Problem after Ignite restore

The mount command is in the postinstall. And it is an IDE CDROM drive.

Thanks for the quick response.
