Can I mgrate using Ignite image of RX to Superdome 2 ?

I have few RX2600, RX2800i2 and RX6600 server.

If I use ignite image of these machines to build new vPar, which will be in Superdome 2, is this possible? 

Basically my source ignite images' hardware model will be RX2600, RX2800i2 and RX6600

Target will be new vPar created in Superdome2.

Is this recommended? 

Please advise if I am in wrong section.

In theory yes, but you need to have a minimum base OS version (depending on firmware running on SD2) - if the OS release is too old, it won't work at all.

Thanks Torsten for the quick response.

Some of the existing servers using HP-UX 11.31.  But not sure when it was installed.  I think, those installation made prior to Sept 2011 release will not work with Superdome 2.  For fresh installation, its yes as I experienced it.  But for ignite is this same situation?

Some servers are using HP-UX 11.23.  I do not think we can use 11.23 ignite image to Superdome 2.

I just need a confirmation.

AFAIR HP-UX 11i v3 1009 is the minimum, better use 1109 or newer.
