Create DVD recovery for Itanium system

Anyone knows if a DVD recovery, instead of tape recovery, can be made for an Integrity server? If yes, what are the instructions?

Thx Marvin, the admin guide was great. The DVD section was great and everything worked.

I followed the June 2006 Ignite Admin Guide for creating installation DVD. However, when I try to use the DVD to re-image another system, I would get the archives empty error message. I checked the DVD to make sure there are contents in there, so the DVD should be ok. Do anyone know how I can fix this error? All I want to do is to make an image of a system with DVD and then use that set of DVD to re-image other systems. Thx in advance.

Shalom Trojan,

If you try and recover a different server and the hardware is significantly different the methodology will not work.

A better way to deal with this scenario is an Ignite Golden Image.

I call it an Ignite Golden Software Image because its much less hardware dependent than make_tape_recovery or make_net_recovery

The server that I made the image from is the same server image that I am trying to install to. I need to have the DVD because I want to bring the DVD to another location for install. Thx
