Creating HPUX 11.00 and 11.11 Depots
I'm creating some depots for 11.00 and 11.11 Applications. After using swcopy to copy the files to the depot locations, I'm discovered that some of the created directories are empty. (I discovered this when I tested my depot and found that Ignite had created the directory on the target machine but there was no content.) The SW had been tagged as installed so I had to do an swremove to get rid of it. These apps were installed from cds that were unsecured (unlocked) so I should have been able to install all apps without problem. Even changing the options to force install/replace doesn't seem to make a difference. Even tho the apps can be viewed on the cdrom, swcopy will not copy them to the depot location. :-(
The workaround that I used to get the apps installed was to mount the cdrom (in my local workstation) to the target machine and ran the swinstall directly.
However, we would like to continue to use our depots for installs. Does anyone have any insight for me?
Thanks - Jim Cooper

Re: Creating HPUX 11.00 and 11.11 Depots
Have you tried using the make_depots command? Look at man 1m make_depot:
# swreg -l depot /cdrom/XSWGR1100
# make_depots -r B.11.00 -i -d /var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/my_depot
-s /cdrom/XSWGR1100
# swreg -l depot /cdrom/XSWGR1100
# make_depots -r B.11.00 -i -d /var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/my_depot
-s /cdrom/XSWGR1100
