Creating rp3410 Ignite/UX recovery tape issue

Hi,

I'd like to connect HP StorageWorks Ultrium 460 tape drive with my HP-UX 11i server (rp3410) to create the bootable recovery tape, with OS on it. I have two questions. Is this procedure supported by HP? What type of cable (exact number code to order it) do I need to use to connect these two devices?

Any help appreciated.

Hi,

It depends on the card which is installed in your system. The cable on one end should have the interface which can fit into your server's card & the other end should fit into your drive.

Sure. It's possible and supported as long as your rp3410 has the correct SCSI adapter to match your drive. I believe the Ultrium 460 is Low Voltage Differential/Ultra2 SCSI and you would need a 68 pin high density to 68 pin high density cable: C5741A or C5743A.
