ERROR: Failed to open tape device /dev/rmt/0mn:No such.....

Hi everyone!
I am working with hp9000 servers family, rp2430, rp5430, rp5470.
S.O.: hp-ux 11i
I am doing Ignite to each server with a new external tape drive DDS4 (hp StorageWorks DAT). Everythin was doing good with the servers rp2430 and rp2470, but now I want to conect the tape drive to make a tape recovery and I installed special files (insf -C tape; insf -e) but when I try to do a make_tape_recovery the output is an error. I am attaching a text file with the output.
Could you please help me to know what├В┬┤s wrong with??

Re: ERROR: Failed to open tape device /dev/rmt/0mn:No such.....

Very simple actually.

The tape drive you are specifying in your make_tape_recovery command is /dev/rmt/0mn. That particular device does not exist on your system (refer back to your ioscan and look at the device files).

You should probably be using /dev/rmt/3mn instead, which does exist. (again, refer back to your ioscan -kfnC tape output and look at the device files)

HI

You do not have a /dev/rmt/0mn, look at the device files in your attachment and use ether
1mn,2mn or 3mn which ever is the external drive.

Re: ERROR: Failed to open tape device /dev/rmt/0mn:No such.....

Try moving you tape drive option to somwhere else in the command line. I usually put it first.

# /opt/ignite/bin/make_tape_recovery -a /dev/rmt/?mn -I -v -m tar -x inc_entire=vg00 -x exclude=??????

I don't know if it'll make a difference or not, but it's worth a try.

Needs to be looked at in respect of the physical volumes.

What does it means?

How can I confirm the Ignite is Ok?
Is there any command to know everything in the Ignite is Ok? or a log file where to confirm......???
