Error while install on ITANIUM

Hello IUX Champions

One small help need . . . . .
I want to setup 11.20 and 11.22 IC's in an existing IUX server, which can support 10.20 , 11.00 , 11.11.
IUX Server details
Machine ==> 9000/816/E35
OS ==> 11.11
Ignite-UX Revision ==> B.3.4.115 [ we can install 10.20 , 11.00 , 11.22 ]
I have downloaded all [ which means 10.20 , 11.00 , 11.11 ]. In that ignite setup how can configure the 11.20 and 11.22 IA as well as PA. And i have to start installation in an ITANIUM machine.

Q1) Can i configure and setup 11.20 and 11.22 IA and PA depots in an existing E class machine ?.

Why because when i try to bootsys from ignite it's giving following error
root @ hpcvl175 >bootsys -w -f -v -i "HP-UX B.11.22 ic36-HPUX11i-TCOE.DVD.PA" test47
Space required in /stand: 18332 KB
Space required in /stand for V-Class: 19777 KB
Space required in /stand for 64bit only systems: 20686 KB
Getting information for "test47"

The target system "test47", is not allowing root remsh access by
you (root@hpcvl175). Would you like bootsys to set
the .rhosts file on that system at this time? ([y]/n) y
Password (15.70.175.47:root):
Will retry remsh now.

ERROR(test47): Cannot determine if the root disk is LVM or
whole-disk. The device file is not of the form /dev/dsk/*, and
either /etc/lvmtab does not exist or the lvlnboot command is not
reporting the root disk as expected.
Fatal error on "test47": (Error obtaining system information.).

After wards i have try to copy the INSTALL,INSTALLFS,WINSTALL to /stand of the ITANIUM machine and try to start, this time also it's giving the following error like

HPUX>boot /stand/WINSTALL
>System Mempry = 2033 MB
loading section ........................(Complete)
Section table buffer too small
(section table = 3648 bytes). Error loading symbol table could not load ram file system
Kernel loading failed

Q2) Can "make_config" and "manage_index" in a normal way, are else i have to follow up anything ?

Can you give me some valuable suggestion.

Thanks in advance

Re: Error while install on ITANIUM

Hi,

E35 uses PA-RISC 1.1. It does not use Itanium chipset.

Hope this helps. Regards.

Re: Error while install on ITANIUM

I am not sure this is the answer you are looking for, but from the Ignite-UX Administration Guide available on htp://docs.hp.com

Ignite-UX is an HP-UX 10.x/11.x/11i product that facilitates installing and configuring HP-UX systems. It replaces the HP-UX Install program (also known as "Cold Install" and "NetInstall"). Ignite-UX releases are available to install the HP-UX 10.01, 10.10, 10.20, 11.0 and 11i (11.11) releases on client systems. (Ignite-UX server support is currently not available for HP-UX 11i Version 1.5, also known as HP-UX 11.20)

Also, from the Release Notes at the same site:

HP-UX Installation Restrictions

Installing HP-UX 11i Version 1.5 (B.11.20) requires a 4 GB minimum root disk. The following installation restrictions apply:
Installing HP-UX 11i Version 1.5 (B.11.20) requires using the DVD media.

HP-UX 11i Version 1.5 (B.11.20) only supports cold installation of the HP-UX operating system.

Updating to HP-UX 11i Version 1.5 (B.11.20) from previous releases is not supported.

The HP-UX 11i Version 1.5 (B.11.20) release does not support using Ignite-UX to create and distribute a Golden System or Golden Disk for network installation of HP-UX.
