General query with Ignite
Hi all
We had a problem whereby when running a make_tape_recovery the following syntax :-
00 22 * * 5 . /etc/profile; /opt/ignite/bin/make_tape_recovery -x inc_entire=vg00 -I -v -a /dev/rmt/0mn -t "Oracle 5 Ignite as at `date +\%d\%m\%Y`" > /tmp/ignite`date +\%d\%m\%Y`.log 2>&1
It waa filling up the /var file system with about 165Mb free.
B5725AA B.4.4.29 HP-UX Installation Utilities (Ignite-UX)
Ignite-UX-11-00 B.4.4.29 HP-UX Installation Utilities for Installing 11.00 Systems
We then swremoved version 4.4.29 as we were advised that this was quite old.
Having downloaded and installed :
B5725AA C.6.1.44 HP-UX Installation Utilities (Ignite-UX)
Ignite-UX-11-00 C.6.1.44 HP-UX Installation Utilities for Installing 11.00 Systems
Now when we run the same syntax, it gives the following error :-
* Creating The Tape Archive
* Checking configuration file for Syntax
make_medialif: error - /opt/ignite/boot/Rel_B.11.00/INSTALL does not exist, is not a regular file or is not readable.
======= 03/31/05 10:28:32 BST make_tape_recovery completed unsuccessfully
Now I have to be honest, when I installed C.6.1.44, it did fail on some pre-reqs :-
NOTE: The software item
"B5725AA,r=C.6.1.44,a=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64,v=HP" is a bundle
(or a product, subproduct or fileset contained within a
bundle). This item was successfully marked, but difficulties
were encountered while marking some items that it depends on.
The messages below show which software items encountered
difficulties and exactly what these difficulties were:
* The software "Ignite-UX,r=C.6.1.44,a=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64,v=HP"
was successfully marked, but it depends on the following
software items which could not be found in the source.
However, these items may already be in the target. This will
be checked during the Analysis Phase:
Ignite-UX.BOOT-KRN-11-11,r=C.6.1.44,a=HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64
Any ideas about how I can resolve this issue though please would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: General query with Ignite
No
After having followed the procedure mentioned on the above link by Bob Vance, that only resulted in files for 11.11 being put down. The actual error that I'm getting is trying to find :-
make_medialif: error - /opt/ignite/boot/Rel_B.11.00/INSTALL does not exist, is not a regular file or is not readable.
The process that I followed only resulted in moving 11.11 files, therefore it still cannot find 11.00/INSTALL file and produces the same error !
I don't want to have to install 11.11 completely and then 11.00 as this is a lot of disk space to waste
Any assistance is appreciated and scored.
Cheers
