HP UX Verification Ignite

HI, I have a library HP 2024 in a SAN with a drive to 800Gb LTO-3, when the make_tape_recovery do not have any problem, but when I want to verify the tape with tar, I get the following error:
# Tar tvf / dev/rmt/0mn
Tar: tape blocksize mistake

Someone knows how to solve this, they would appreciate.

Re: HP UX Verification Ignite

If this is an Ignite tape, you have to skip over the boot files:

mt fsf 1
tar -tvf /dev/rmt/0mn

Hi:

I think you want:

# mt -f /dev/rmt/0mn fsf 1
# tar -tvf /dev/rmt/0m

Regards!

If I translated correctly.

(need to get past the boot block of the tape in order to read the following tar file for Ignite)

mt -t /dev/rmt/0m rew
mt -t /dev/rmt/0mn fsf 1
tar vtf /dev/rmt/0m

Re: HP UX Verification Ignite

HI, Thank you for your responses, but also run a pax and gives me the following error:

# mt -t /dev/rmt/0mn rew
# mt -f /dev/rmt/0mn fsf 1
# pax -vf /dev/rmt/0mn
pax: /dev/rmt/0mn : This doesn't look like a tar archive
pax: /dev/rmt/0mn : Skipping to next file...
# pax -vf /dev/rmt/0mn
pax: Ready for volume 2
pax: Type "go" when ready to proceed (or "quit" to abort): go
Continuing
pax: /dev/rmt/0mn : This doesn't look like a tar archive
pax: /dev/rmt/0mn : Skipping to next file...
pax: Ready for volume 3
pax: Type "go" when ready to proceed (or "quit" to abort): go
Continuing
