HPUX DR question--script to create vg and lvol structure

Hi:

I was wondering if anyone knew of a utility or script or anything that would automatically rebuild my volume groups and logical volumes after I boot off my make_tape_recovery and have rebuilt vg00 (The OS).

My major hurdle during DR testing is that the Hardware IDs for the disk at the DR site are completely different than what I have in production and essentially the all needs to be re-created.

Thanks,

I have script to you. But the comment is in portuguese.

create the directories

/UNIX

+--->DEXE

The script put in /UNIX/DEXE

Yo tengo uno script para usted, pero los comentarios estan en portugues.

I've not seen an automated type script. It could be done.
I did some work with a consultant a few years ago and his approach was to maintain two hard coded scripts. Any time he made a change on the production server he updated the script that would rebuild that server. Then he made corresponding changes to the disaster script on his other system.
It was just part of his DR and documentation process.

Re: HPUX DR question--script to create vg and lvol structure

John Poff sent me this script to do exactly that. It has two files - One runs prios to make_tape_recovery and the other runs after (using the files the first script creates) and rebuilds everything very nicely.
