Re: How can I create Ignite tape to remote drive

You can NOT run a make_tape_recovery from system A and put it on a tape drive on system B. That isn't supported.

What you CAN do is run a make_net_recovery (I think that's the command) of system A and have the image reside on system B. There is a way then to take that make_net_recovery image and put it to a tape that you can then boot from and restore your system with.

There is a document in /opt/ignite somewhere that tells how to make a bootable tape from a make_net_recovery image. I will see if I can find it for you.

Re: How can I create Ignite tape to remote drive

Here is the document location that details how to put a make_net_recovery file on to a tape so that you can boot from it.

Look in the directory /opt/ignite/share/doc

In that directory you should find a file called: makenetrec.txt

In that file there is a section that talks specifically about
how to create a bootable recovery tape from an archive
that was created with make_net_recovery. The section you want is titled "Creating a Bootable Archive Tape".
