Re: How to install Ignit-ux

I hope by 10.01 you are referring to the OS version and not the ignite version.
I would say the best option would be to get a depot for the version you wish to install and swinstall it.
Choosing the right version of ignite would depend on other servers that you have and will be using ignite.

Re: How to install Ignit-ux

Hi Farhan,

Please visit following link for installation of ignite ux.
http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-90872/ch02s02.html

Or

Copy the tar image to some directory on server (say /tmp) and then run swinstall command. (use tab button to)select local directory=>select host(same server)=>source depot path(/tmp here)=>s/w filter(none) and select ok
you will see a list of s/w available. Mark the required s/w (with help of space bar) and install from action menu.

Re: How to install Ignit-ux

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your prompt response, now am running os version 10.01 and I have downloaded the right version of ignite-ux..

Now when I'm trying to install from sam..I have typed in the hostname in the source hostname field, I've also put in the Source Depot path field, the full path name of the directory where the software is ie /tmp...

it aborts the installation with an error that...couldn't create a lock file....

now the other question is how do i get the depot and what is it???

what am i doing wrong in the above steps...

Thanks a lot for your help

Re: How to install Ignit-ux

change directory to where the depot is downloaded. Note that individual depot files are ascii and must be ftp'd to the server in ascii mode. Using sftp or a browser based on the server/workstation avoids this problem.

cd /tmp # for example

Say the ignite depot is named ignite4.1.depot

To install from the command line:

swinstall -s $PWD/ignite4.1.depot \*

That will do it.

If the depot is corrupt, re-read the first paragraph of my post.

Peace.

Good Luck.
