Ignite HPUX 11.3 RP, Limitations to ignite RX Servers

I'm considering using an older RP 3440 to act as an ignite server. A long time ago I have memories of older HPUX 11.1 RP builds igniting RX servers, if I was to build the RP with current 11.3 would there be any limitations with using ignite to ignite RX/IA64 boxes ?

I can't find any documentation that suggests there is a problem with 11.3 (or 11.1 for that matter) but I can't shake memories of the limitation.

Any experience on this would be most welcome as I'd rather know before building.

We have an rp3440 here and we ignite RPs RXs with no problem at all. Make sure you download the latest version of ignite here though:

I had an old 11.11 PA-RISC (RP) server that I used in the past as Ignite server.
I now loaded the latest Ignite software to install my 11.31 Itanium servers (RX). Everything worked fine.

It does not matter. An older server can deploy the latest HP-UX bits.

Ignite can be download in several flavors or as the full version. If you want one Ignite server to handle 11.11 thru 11.31, download the full version and it will support them all.

hi matthew,

using rp3440 as ignite server and having the 11.31 OS on that as well as having the latest Ignite-UX bundle installed, there are no known documented issues.
so you can go ahead and use this server once configured with 11.31 and latest Ignite-UX bundle to seamlessly install 11.23,11.31 IA/PA onto IA/PA servers.
