Ignite Process & Flow of files when it starts installingb,&.

Hi ALL,

I am new to Ignite process. Can any body tell me:

Q) When I do boot lan install ?
?? what is the first file accessed by boot helper and followed by other files?
?? I would like to know the sequence of files to be accessed by Ignite Server.

Thank & Regards,

Pandu.

Re: Ignite Process & Flow of files when it starts installingb,&.

Hi Sunjay,

I appriciate and Thanks for your effort.

My intention is to know exact sequence of files used while Installing Client.

There are so many files like INSTALLFS, INDEX, INSTALL, config, config.local, *_cfg, etc.

My question is which is the fist accessed file and what are the following files... Meaning, when you do boot lan Install(I have only 1 IP address):
Boot helper give tmp Ip to contact Ignite server, when Client get connection to the server, then Client starts interacting with server directly.

After contacting Server then it starts installing client. Now what is the first file accessed before and after OS.

Thanks & Regards,

Pandu.

Re: Ignite Process & Flow of files when it starts installingb,&.

Hi Pandu,

The boot kernela used to boot the client from the ignite server is INSTALL. The rest of the process is automatic and i don't think there is any step by step list of the files accessed. Maybe someone else can help you with that. Frankly i never bothered with something like that. I used to think about that when i was using MS-DOS 4.0, but then i dropped keeping track of the file level things. It is of no use.

Hope this helps.
