Ignite Roadmap
Hello Everyone.
I have a question about the HP/Ignite roadmap and if there are any plans to move away from building servers using underlying technologies such as DHCP and TFTP. This is probably reliant on technology changes in BIOS and network cards but is significant for this forum. Sun for instance use 'wanboot' that enable you to build a server using just http(s). This removes the need to DHCP (not ideal in a data centre) and TFTP.
When are HP going to catch up for both their UNIX and Windows servers?

Re: Ignite Roadmap
Shalom,
I can tell you that for four years, I've been suggesting they move to openssh, with no discernable movement.
I've heard some suggestions that a move to PXE be made, but don't really know if this improves security.
The best way to get hints on Ignite plans is to attend meetings/conferences like the HP Technology Forum. There you can talk to people off the record.
Many in the Linux world have been begging for a Linux release of Ignite. Of this also, I've heard nothing.
