Re: Ignite- UX Backup & Restoration
Yes, it can if the application is installed in VG00.
Once you have the system set up, application(s) installed, and users defined, create your Ignite backup. Then if/when you restore from it everything will be restored as it was when the backup was taken.

Re: Ignite- UX Backup & Restoration
We are trying to create a Golden Image using Ignite - UX.
Can this image be stored in a Unified Storage & recovered from there over network in case of disaster?

Probably only if there is an Ignite server that can read that storage.

Re: Ignite- UX Backup & Restoration
Do we need a Ignite Server if I burn the golden image on a DVD ?
Can the OS + Application be burnt on a single DVD ?

Ah, probably not.
>Can the OS + Application be burnt on a single DVD?
It depends on the size of your app. Of course you don't want to back up GBs of application data that way.

Re: Ignite- UX Backup & Restoration
Not the Application Data, that will be done by the Backup Software.
I wanted to create the image of the HP UX OS & installed application & use it for BMR. The only option I have is DVD (Golden Image) since i do not have another HP-UX server/Tape for network recovery.
Can multiple DVD's be created in case it doesn't fit in a Single DVD (I am looking for BMR) ?

I don't think Ignite and pax can handle it? Check the documentation.
You can always split off the application part if too big.

Re: Ignite- UX Backup & Restoration
The best solution would be a tape drive. An alternative could be a "clone" of the disk, depending on your system type and OS.
Hope this helps!

Torsten.
