Re: Ignite-UX server question
make_net_recovery creates an image that is somewhat different from make_tape_recovery.
it is not surprising that you noticed differences, cheers to you for looking at the contents.
I have worked with both image types for years and versions of Ignite and the backups invariably work.
Should you trust me?
No.
You should test recovering a system with make_net_recovery.
Be sure.

Re: Ignite-UX server question
I have a DRP coming and I would know it there but I don't want to find that my backups are bad by walking in there :).. Would not be good, So thought I will double check and see if I am missing something. Any suggestions ??

Re: Ignite-UX server question
A suggestion for your DR - make sure you use the same IP addresses to restore the network backups - it is MUCH easier.
If you have to, change segment addressing and system addresses after the restores. It will save you a lot of time and hair pulling

Re: Ignite-UX server question
Suggestions:
1)DRP is for testing. If 100% success is expected that is kind of ridiculous.
2)Acquire an old server from ebay and do your test with that. Set it up with the newest HP-UX you can and do the make_net_recovery then clean the system out, boot and restore. If you have a sandbox type system, that is the one to dedicate to the task.
