In regards to your question - you could do a swremove to go backwards if the install isn't what you expect. Further, I believe there is a self check during the swinstall process. If the version doesn't work on 11.00 it would fail before you get to far.

This would require a re-packaging of an Ignite depot from software that is already installed. I have never tried this. Of course, a full Ignite backup taken before any software installation always guarantee's recoverability :-)
