I need some help, I want to add a Superdome Integrity 11.31. To my ignite server, an rp7410 with 11.11. I have this Ignite version:
# swlist |grep -i ignite
B5725AA C.6.7.79 HP-UX Installation Utilities (Ignite-UX)
Ignite-UX-11-11 C.6.7.79 HP-UX Installation Utilities for Installing 11.11 Systems
And I want to upgrade it to this version:
Version: C.7.6.100
Software specification: All 3 bundles
HP-UX 11i v1 (B.11.11)
HP-UX 11i v2 (B.11.23)
HP-UX 11i v3 (B.11.31)
I got two questions:
- What will happen with my other clients? Will they dissapear or will be there if I upgrade?
- What I must backup (Ignite tape from my igniite server) from my ignite server to make it possible recovery in case theres an issue?, my big preocupation is to lose all my clients configurations. Thanks!

Solution
The procedure to upgrade ignite is to remove the old version and install the new.
You will not loose the client config.
If you wish to be safe, copy/tar/backup /var/opt/ignite/clients directory.
During the next make_net_recovery all clients will auto update the tool version.
If you want to go back to the old version ( for some reason). I would definately make backup copies of /var/opt/ignite or ignite the ignite server.
