Ignite backup error while running make_recovery

Hi,

I am getting the below error while performing ignite backup using make_recovery command.

" make_recovery(486): Call to system failed. errno=0
Cleanup "

Checked the tape drive by taking test backup using 'tar' utility.. the tar backup went successful.

If anybody us free, please provide me the solution as soon as possible..this is little bit urgent.

Thanks,
Regards,
Phani

It looks like the tape drive needs a cleanup. If you have a cleaning tape, try cleaning tape drive and try make_recovery

Cleaned the tape drive already..but the same problem is persisting.
But tar backup is getting successful.

Re: Ignite backup error while running make_recovery

First of all, make_recovery is an old tool. Replace it with make_tape_recovery by installing the latest Ignite product which is available for free:

Re: Ignite backup error while running make_recovery

Hi Elena,

I gone thru the link which u have suggested to me...i got the right information.I found a bad disk in VG05 which was causing the make_recovery to fail..
I need to fix the disk issue..once that is solved i think i can take successful ignite backup.

Thanks alot :))))))

Thanks you very much everybody for providing me the valuable information.
