Ignite bootcd with minim. HPUX (Recovery Shell, RAM-Disc) for wiping disks
I created a minim. hpux 11.11 bootcd with ignite (6.6.93). On the cd is a disk wiping tool wipe-2.2.0. I can boot and execute a recovery shell (this creates a RAM-Disk). But wipe-2.2.0 needs /dev/random or /dev/urandom. Does anybody know how to configure ignite to boot with the necessary random number generator filesets and the /dev/random, /dev/urandom files in the RAM-Disk?

Re: Ignite bootcd with minim. HPUX (Recovery Shell, RAM-Disc) for wiping disks
You need to download KRHG11i=bundle from
HP-site and include it in bootcd-contain.
This software automaticly create /dev/random
and so on....

Re: Ignite bootcd with minim. HPUX (Recovery Shell, RAM-Disc) for wiping disks
Install the tools you need on the system you are using to create the Ignite image. Then include the /dev/random and other files into your Ignite image.
You could alternatively have the disks sent out for destruction. A full OS install and a file copy that fills up the disk is more effective than this tool at making sure the disks are clean.

Re: Ignite bootcd with minim. HPUX (Recovery Shell, RAM-Disc) for wiping disks
the idea to install the KRHG11i is not bad, but after the installation the system will boot. The installed files will be lost from RAM-Disk after booting. Because of this i think it is better to configure ignite with the needed files of the strong random generator and boot with them on the bootcd

Re: Ignite bootcd with minim. HPUX (Recovery Shell, RAM-Disc) for wiping disks
could you explain how do you mean it?
The problem is, that i can't use the hard disks for installing any software. Only the installion on RAM Disk or executing from CD-Medium is possible.
