Ignite from rp3410 to rp3440

Hi

I have one server rp3410 and i want to have a complete image of the vg00 and install as ignite on a rp3440 server

could that happen without problem as the rp3410 have different architecture than the rp3440 specially from the system board ?

also what about the ignite from rp3440 and then install the ignite on rp3410 ?
Thank you
Toni

Re: Ignite from rp3410 to rp3440

rp3410 and rp3440 are sibling models: they both use the same chipset. (In fact, a rp3410 could be upgraded to a rp3440 by simply purchasing a firmware unlock code from HP.)

I would expect Ignite images to be transferrable between these models with no trouble at all.

Re: Ignite from rp3410 to rp3440

Hi Toni,

Yes this should be possible.

Update the RP4310 with latest patch bundles.

You will also need to install the drivers of your new I/O cards you are going to use in the RP3440 on the RP3410.

Create an image on the RP3410 and restore it on the RP3440.

Re: Ignite from rp3410 to rp3440

Hi Toni

I have done that many times and never had any problems.

I also did the following

make_tape_recovery on rp2470 and then restore to rp34xx,or even old servers like N4000 even K380, all worked ok.

I love Ignite.
