Ignite hanging with vgcfgbackup

We are tryign to run an ignite backup of one of our servers running ignite 11.00 we have patched this up the level 5.1.33 to bring it in line with our other servers.

we have now run three backups one a make_tape_recovery -Av one make_recovery -Av and then a backup to an ignite server.

They all have the same problem:

Volume Group configuration for /dev/vg00 has been saved in /etc/lvmconf/vg00.conf
* Creating Map Files for Volume Group /dev/vg00
* /usr/sbin/vgexport -p -m /etc/lvmconf/vg00.mapfile /dev/vg00
Volume group "/dev/vg00" is still active.

* Backing Up Volume Group /dev/vg01
* /usr/sbin/vgcfgbackup /dev/vg01

When it starts the vgcfgbackup it just hangs i can see the process in top is in sleep mode. Theres no errors in the syslog although it does confirm that the volume group configuration for vg00 has been saved.

how can i find what the problem is with vgcfgbackup so I can get ignite to work

What happens if you try to run the vgcfgbackup command manually?

Can you see if it's created the backup in /etc/lvmconf?

Can you vgdisplay /dev/vg00 ?

tried to run vgcfgbackup of vg01 directly but it hung again, checked for the vgcfgbackup processes and found about 5 one from the 2nd Sep couldnt be killed so ive bounced th ebox to hopefully clear this problem up.

seems liek it was the old vgcfgbackup process that was stoppign any new ones working, after the bounce ignite now works fine.
