Ignite image on local disks.

Ignite image on local disks.

We would like to create ignite image on local disk instead of local tape drive on remote server without having any Ignite-UX Server configured.

We have a remote server with local tape drive attached but we don???t want to physically go there to put the DDS tape into the tape drive. I would prefer to create the ignite image first on local disk and then create ignite tape on other server???s tape drive in our head office where I sit.

We want to get it done without any Ignite-UX Server involvement.

Thanks,

Gulam.

Re: Ignite image on local disks.

Gulam,

Ignite has two methods:

1) to tape

2) to network ignite server

What you're hoping to accomplish is outside the design principles of the product. Get a tape drive and attach it locally.

Re: Ignite image on local disks.

Hi Gulam,

Sorry, you have to use one of the two options you mentioned, server or tape.

In these cases we look for a "super"-user at the location who operates the tape-handling. Server costs us to much bandwith.
