Ignite newbie

I have some computers with hp-ux 10.20 and i want make a bootable recoverytape(make_recovery -A)
But the problem is make_recovery is not on this machines(This machines are since a month here).
In /var/opt/ignite/local are some files, that the ignite install was sucessfully. But in the /opt/ignite/bin is only print_manifest.
Please help: What is what i need to make this recovery tape?
I don't want to make an ignite server, i want make that on a local machine.

Re: Ignite newbie

Hi,

You just need to install the Ignite/UX product. Becoming an ignite server need some more configuration that you don't need.

Re: Ignite newbie

No, You could also install the product on one server, then use the GUI to run make_tape_recovery on the other systems. In this case, the GUI would "push" the needed software for you.

Action -> add a new client
Action -> create tape recovery archive

Re: Ignite newbie

Thanks for this fast help.
There is only 1 problem, this machines are at the moment in production. I cant play with this, but i have a B2000 hpux, but with them is a litle problem:
In the normal booting it is searching for a NIS server and stops here: "NIS not responding "eur-Bristol...."
Which file must i edit?
And where can i edit the ip number(the sam has a failure with the ip changing)

Thanks

Re: Ignite newbie

Hi,

# cd /etc/rc.config.d
# cp /usr/newconfig/etc/rc.config.d/namesvrs /etc/rc.config.d/namesvrs
# /sbin/init.d/nis.client stop

Kind regards,
Robert-Jan
