Ignite on Itanium Servers
I have this machine, rx2660, HP-UX B.11.31 and a LTO2 tape Drive. Ignite version is C.7.3.144. I have trouble making the recovery tape because to this old Ignite version. I have searched in these fourums and you recommend to update the Ignite version.
But, I have a question, since Itanium Servers don't boot from tape drives and then you need to boot from "the OS Installation DVDs that contain the Ignite version which you have used to make the recovery tape", if I update my Ignite version by downloading it from HP's website, it would be possible for me to a recovery my system from a tape make from this updated version using the original Installation DVDs ?
Hope you can help me.
Thanks!
Javier

Re: Ignite on Itanium Servers
==> This is not correct.
Only some entry level servers with specific firmware will not boot from Tape
Please check ignite boot and firmware compatibility guide.
==>a tape make from this updated version using the original Installation DVDs?
Lower version of DVD ignite will not support to boot from Higher version.

Sooraj

The last link I pasted won't work. Use:
