Ignite recovery fails - due to version mismatch.

Hi friends,

Production server down , and ignite restoration doesnt work.
Tryed booting by core OS cd and when selecting install thr. ignite, gets the following error.



ERROR: The version of Ignite-UX on the server you are using (C.6.6.93) is
different than the version of Ignite-UX that the client booted
(B.5.4.38). The versions must match in order to ensure correct
behavior. You may need to update the device you booted from with the
components found on the server.

How to restore ???

What is the error reported while booting through ignite media?

I recently had the same error when I tried to recover a workstation. In my case, it was telling me that the version of ignite on the ignite server was older than the one on the CD, but the error message you are receiving suggests the opposite applies in your case. Do you have an up-to-date CD with the appropriate version on it?

Sorry to make a second post so soon, but Devender has given me an idea.

From the error you have reported, I suspect you are trying to recover from a network backup. If you have a tape drive on each server (or an external tape drive that you can take to the server being recovered) you can make a bootable tape from the network backup and boot and recover the system from that.

Delighted to see ur responces. dont want to mention thanks, as we r friends.

Dont have tape drive for recovery.
Also dont have updated HPUX core cd. Where can i get one.
waitn for reply.
