I know there'a a number of posts on this already but none answer my problem.
I'm running HP11.23i on Itanium.
I've created a full system bootable backup using make_tape_recovery. (Ignite-UX)
I need to recover this on another Itanium.
So I boot the system and select DVD boot. From there I get three options: 1. Install HP-UX, 2. Run a Recovery Shell and 3. Advanced Option.
The screen also shows that a Tape device has been found (ie. Tapes: 1)
After checking all options out I select option 2. The options then provided are: Search for a file, Reboot, Load a file, Recoveran unbootable HPUX System and Exit to Shell (which gives me a unix shell).
Any ideas how to either boot of the tape or restore the tape contents onto the second server ?
Thanks in advance
JUP

Re: Ignite recovery on Itanium
If you want to recover that server so why not choose the option 1?
I recommend recover that client by choosing option 1.
It is more easy to recovery with option 1.
It depend on how size of the vg00 in the sourse machine but in general, it takes about 1 hour to complete recovery...

Re: Ignite recovery on Itanium
Did not realise that the tape recovery option is hidden under the Install HP-UX option - not ideal and not so intuitive.
Anyway thanks again
