I understand that it is possible to recover an image from a Ignite server to a server on a different subnet. I know that I could use a 'helper' server but I also have read that it is possible to boot w/ a recovery cd and then install from the ignite server. Would someone confirm this is possible and spell out the procedure for me? Thanks,
Mike

Solution
Mike,
Yes, it is possible.
Boot through the CD and while chosing the source, select the source as the Ignite-Ux server and you will need to enable the network.
This means you will assign a temp IP address for the system to communicate with the Ignite-UX server.
Sundar.

Re: Ignite recovery wo/ lan boot
Shalom,
Ignite network boot requires the boot helper or being on the same subnet.
If you have a tape drive and use make_tape_recovery to do the backup then you don't need to boot.
What you need is the command to run after the boot.
Its important to make sure this is supported in case you get in trouble.
